First Women Witnesses Ever!

Jk! I have no idea if that is actually true but literally a couple days after the announcement a woman in our ward called and asked us to be the witnesses at her son's baptism! It was actually super special because she is someone I have known throughout my mission! My parents were in her ward when they were first married and living in England and when I got my call to Ukraine they immediately connected through Facebook and now I am serving in her ward! We went to family home evening at their house on Monday and were really excited to find out that their 8 year old son would be baptized on Saturday. Little did we know that we would actually be able to be the witnesses! It was so cool, I love modern revelation.

Other than making history, this week was crazy as usual. On Tuesday we had MLC for all the leadership in the mission at the Kumfermans' house which is always the best when we get to be there. We also went to the Temple and did baptisms with our recent convert Natasha which was super special. We also went on exchange to a city 4 hours outside of Kyiv called Cherkassy. The sisters there are the cutest and one is one of my former companions Sister Maisey so we had a blast contacting in the rain, eating Georgian food, having crazy lessons, and a dance party. That was when we found out about the baptism the next day so we hopped on a late night bus and tried to sleep as best as we could. We had the bus to ourselves so that definitely helped.

General Conference was this weekend!! I still have yet to watch all of the sessions in english haha (we watched it at church in ukrainian instead of russian so we did not understand very much) but I loved Elder Uchtdorf's talk so much! This life is truly an adventure and we chose it before this life so that we could learn and grow. I love how he said that "life is not about living perfectly but living intentionally." Everyone makes mistakes and that is part of the learning process. That is the beauty of the Atonement of Christ. It allows us to make mistakes in order to learn but it provides power for us to become better from those mistakes and to change and develop into a new creature of Christ. If you haven't listened to his talk, go watch it as well as the other sessions. I'm so grateful for President Russel M. Nelson and the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know that they are truly prophets of God and that Christ leads his Church on the Earth today.

Love you all! Have a great week : )

Loveeeee,

Сестра дэйнс
