It’s been a while
So it has been a hot second since I have written one of these. Basically lots of things have happened in the last few weeks so I am going to try and sum it up as best as I can.
First off is the most exciting.... A few weeks ago we were walking home from a family home evening and on the way home we met Faith and Tony who are from Nigeria and studying at a university here. We called Faith and met with her. We found out that she has always been interested in our church but people at home told her it was a cult and we would sacrifice her. She was pleasantly surprised when she came to the church for the first time and we didn't sacrifice her. She actually loved it so much that she accepted a baptismal date and is preparing to be baptized on the 23rd of november. We are soooo excited for her! Each time we meet she is more and more ready, her faith in Christ and desire to follow Him is so inspiring. We are so happy for her!
We also received transfers (like 3 weeks ago haha) so I am still in Kharkivskyi and my new companion (and final lol I have had 12) is Sister Murphy from Hollister, California. She is awesome and hilarious.
We also have had exchanges, mission leadership council, a halloween party, and ward Ukrainian party which was the best ward activity I have been to on my mission and the babushki gave us giant plates full of vareniki and beet salad. It was like ukrainian thanksgiving.
This week we had my last zone conference. It was a special one with the area president, President Golden who was actually here for my first zone conference as well. Kinda cool how things come full circle. It was a really great conference and was really special hearing the messages him and his wife had to share. I loved how he spoke about the Holy Ghost and the gifts of the spirit. He taught us about how the gift of charity is the crowning gift of the spirit. When we obtain the gift of charity we are given the ability to love unconditionally like Christ loves all of us.
Well thats all for the last few weeks. I honestly probably wont write for a few more haha which is funny becuase I only have 3 WEEKS LEFT ON MY MISSION AHHHH. Lots of mixed emotions are happening right now but mostly I am just soaking everything in and enjoying my time with these people and in this country which I love so so so much.
Love you all!!!
