My life #ramenslave99
Sorry that title is an inside joke with Sister Maisey and Moore. So hahhahahah if you are reading this right now. But it also kind of sums up our week. On Monday Sister Osguthorpe got really really sick with some sort of stomach bug so we stayed home for a few days while she recovered. We played lots of codfish (a card game that sister Osguthorpe and I get veryyyy competitive at), watched almost all the Mormon messages available on the website, and ate soooo much ramen. Let's just say thank goodness for senior couples and for their delicious homemade bread and all other wonderful yummy things they brought us while we were holed up in our apartment.
In other news, we had kind of a crazy bunch of calls from President and the assistants this week while we were lying at home. So basically my companion is going home in a week because she is finishing her mission! I am so sad because I love her and we only got three weeks together but now I need a new companion. It worked out that another sister in Ukraine is getting deported because her registration expired so she will come be with me until the end of the transfer. It's been kind of crazy and lots of phone calls and poor communication but now its all figured out.
We met this week with Alina and had a great lesson with her. She is still set to be baptized on the 24th so everyone pray for her!
Funny story: On Sunday we had a fun day and had to go pick up some ties that the Elders ordered from this random lady's house (long story) so we got there and planned on only staying a few minutes but maybe giving her a Church card or a Book of Mormon. She was really nice and invited us in. Then she proceeded to try to sell us all natural home and body products from a Ukrainian multi-level marketing company. We sat there for an hour and a half while she showed us all the science experiments to convince us to buy her products. Let me just say i was very impressed hahah if i wasn't going to be transferred in a few weeks I probably would have left there with the laundry detergent and the sulfate free shampoo. So after patiently enduring the presentation (which turned out to be super great Russian practice) we tried to give her a Church card and she rejected us so hard. Well that's life sometimes!
Other than that, this week I have had some extra personal study time and I have been studying faith and reading the "Lectures On Faith" by Joseph Smith. It is so cool to see how faith is actually a principle of power. Everything we do is guided by the principle of faith. We work because we have faith that we will receive money, and we study in school because we have faith that we will grow our knowledge. Like faith can make good things happen in our temporal lives, it is also faith that makes good things happen in our spiritual lives. I definitely see the principle of faith working in missionary work every day. There have been times when I have gotten frustrated and lost faith without even knowing it and it takes work to gain it back. But I know if we pray and rely on the Lord and have faith and hope that good things will happen, they actually will.
Love you all!
