Russian concussion!
This week I have been dreaming in Russian! I guess we could take that as a good sign, its pretty cool i guess because I go to sleep thinking about russian and wake up thinking about it. The only downside is the mild headache that I wake up with, but other than that its all good!
Based on the questions I get from my parents each week when we skype, I thought there might be some confusion among you about what language I actually speak on my mission haha. Sooo, I speak Russian everyday. The eastern european countries who were part of the soviet union all still have russian influences. The majority of the population speaks Russian. In Ukraine, the eastern part speaks all russian and as you move west you get more and more ukrainian speakers. In Kiev everyone is fluent in both and so sometimes they just switch between the two which is called "Surgic." Here in Moldova, most people speak russian and romanian but we have separate romanian and russian branches because there are some people who only speak one or the other.
In other news, we have a baptismal date! Her name is Alina and we started teaching her a few weeks ago. She is super nice and as we were teaching her this week she really opened up to us about how she wants to change her life. We started talking about repentance and then she asked us how to do it. We explained baptism and she asked us if she could do it! So we of course said yes and talked about the seriousness of the covenant and chose a date for July 27th!
I love you all! Happy almost 4th of July!
Love,
Cectpa Daines
