Христос воскрес

Happy Easter everyone! (well Pravaslavny Easter at least). This week Moldova celebrated orthodox easter and man do they celebrate here. The whole city shut down and everyone was out of town. Even though the city was dead, we still got so much done and had such an amazing week!

On Tuesday we went to Sister Bordeiu's house and cooked with her grandkids. We made chocolate chip cookies (thanks mom for the chocolate chips), candy, and "healthy" chips. I think my favorite part was definitely the apron I got to wear. The next day we got to see her again and go on a walk in the park with her and another member Natasha. It was a beautiful park and we had a lot of fun doing photo shoots with them. I swear the members here are the best. They are so cute! I love our branch!

It has gotten really warm here this last week and so we actually were able to go outside without jackets on and it made me really happy. The weather is beautiful and so are the flowers! A cute girl from our English class brought us the most beautiful flowers on Saturday.

We are teaching a new person! Her name is Irina and she is so amazing. We met her at English practice and she was one of our miracle guests at church last week. We met with her and taught about the Book of Mormon. She started reading and came to church again. The branch was so welcoming to her and so we are really grateful!

Moldova has a tradition on Easter where they fly in the eternal flame from Jerusalem and then light it at the church in the center of the city. It is a huge tradition and there were tons of people. We got permission to go watch and it was so cool. We also met a family from Illinois who are here as missionaries for a church. It was so cool to meet and talk to them.

On Sunday we got a special invitation from our recent convert Ludmila. She invited us to come to her home in a village outside of the city for dinner and to meet her family. It was such a cool experience! Her family was so welcoming and loving and we had such a fun time with them. They showed us their huge garden and fed us lots of food, including holodietz (meat jello) other than that it was okay. We are going to start meeting with her family and so we are really excited!

Love you all!
