Христос воскрес

Happy Easter everyone! (well Pravaslavny Easter at least). This week Moldova celebrated orthodox easter and man do they celebrate here. The whole city shut down and everyone was out of town. Even though the city was dead, we still got so much done and had such an amazing week! On Tuesday we went to Sister Bordeiu's house and cooked with her grandkids. We made chocolate chip cookies (thanks mom for the chocolate chips), candy, and "healthy" chips. I think my favorite part was definitely the apron I got to wear. The next day we got to see her again and go on a walk in the park with her and another member Natasha. It was a beautiful park and we had a lot of fun doing photo shoots with them. I swear the members here are the best. They are so cute! I love our branch!  It has gotten really warm here this last week and so we actually were able to go outside without jackets on and it made me really happy. The weather is beautiful and so are the flowers! A cute girl from ...

Happy Easter Everybody

This week was a WONDERFUL week. I seriously can't believe it. so many miracles, but I feel like I say that every week. This week we had a last minute trip to Kyiv.  Sister Olson had to do registration so we got to fly there and fly back all in one day. We had an early wake up at 3 am and didn't get home until 11 so it was a long day. When we got there we only had to do 30 min of registration and so the rest of the day we got to walk around see my old area Pechersky and do some shopping. That same day my package from my mom arrived and I asked her to throw in a bunch of Russian "choose the right" rings because you can't get them anywhere here. Well, literally the next day we were visiting Sister Bordeo who we visit every week. she is the best member but can't come to church because she is disabled. Well, she is preparing to go to the Temple for the first time in may even though she has been a member for a long time. She is so excited and asked us where...

Let The Rain Fall Down!

Wowowow what a week full of miracles. They literally RAINED from the heavens! Our first miracle this week showed me the power of prayer. If you remember from my email a few weeks ago, we found Tanya right after we got to Chisinau and set a baptismal date with her two weeks later. Well, long story short, something happened and we couldn't get ahold of her. it went on for a really long time and the elders tried calling her too. It was so sad that she was so close and we lost her! We lost hope and kind of gave up but at district council one of the elders suggested to pray and then call her. After we all prayed together we called her on the elder's phone and she answered!!! I was so shocked that i was speechless and literally didn't know what to say but PRAYER WORKS people.  Our next miracle of the week was Ludmila's baptism! it was such an amazing day! she is already such a blessing to our branch here in Chisinau and the members are so welcoming to her. the Carons ...

Greetings from MOLDOVA everyone! Wow, the last few weeks have flown by and been crazy. Basically, I am here in Moldova with my new trainee, Sister Olson, from Sandy Utah and we are loving whitewashing. We have only gotten hopelessly lost a couple of times so other than that everything is going well. Everything is different here, the people, the culture, the language, so it is definitely an adventure. I caught myself a few times thinking "man it's like I'm in another country" then I realize that I am #ishouldbeablonde.  Some funny things that have happened in Moldova include: - being scared by a random guy on the street while contacting. he literally just jumped at us and yelled BOO as he passed us on the street for no reason. we screamed really loud. it was crazy.  - falling asleep and being forced to take a nap at a babushka's house. i am soooo exhausted right now and after 4 hours of church yesterday we had a lesson with an investigator. i totally fell...

A week of conferences

We started off this week with a fun p-day with the only other sisters in Moldova. They came down for the day and did some shopping and just getting to take a break together from all of the elders we serve around haha. We had a really cool member lesson with Sister Berdeiu who is an amazing member we meet with every week. She prepared a slideshow presentation for us about the history of the church in Moldova. It was so cool to see how new the church is here and the faith of the members in the few small branches in Moldova.  President came this week for mid-transfer training, zone conference, and interviews. It was a fun week and we got to spend a few extra days with the other sisters who came and slept at our apartment. There aren't any STLs here in Moldova but President decided to have Sister Olson and i present a 45 min segment. It was fun to prepare for since sister Olson hasn't even been to a zone conference yet but it was a blast.  We also got to watch confere...
