Snow Day in Ukraine

WOWOWOW what a week!!!! This has been a CRAZY week filled with miracles and just hilarious experiences.

First of all, we had exchanges this week with our STLs in Kharkivsky. We all went to their area and it was a PARTY. Mostly because in the morning while we were studying it started SNOWING FOR THE FIRST TIME! It was so exciting! SO it was a really fun exchange. We did a hot cocoa singing book table which kinda flopped because sister Soucie and I put the ceramic crock pot on the stove to make it heat up faster which just resulted in it cracking and the milk pouring out. But it was still fun. Then we had some great lessons and ended the exchange by ambushing Sister King and sister Vehar with snowballs. It was a great day!

Friday was full of great things. We met Kcenya for lunch and she took us to her work and she introduced us to her coworkers who actually really liked us so it was pretty cool. Then we went to Evalina's house (the less active that we visit every week). We didn't have time to eat dinner and told her that and she then ran to the kitchen and came out a few minutes later with plates filled with gretchka (buckwheat), cabbage, and beet salad. This was my first time on the mission not being able to finish the food they gave me and honestly not really wanting to hahaha. But we made it most of the way through and then she packed up the rest for us to take home. Then she made us drink tea so I was about to burst but she said after that she didn't know why she made so much food but God knew that we would be hungry when we came so she could feed her "daughters."

On Sunday we had a miracle! On Thursday we did a finding activity in the park and I met a lady named Luda and her 5-year-old son Timofey. They were so nice and interested. On Sunday morning we invited them to church and THEY CAME. That is kinda a big deal here haha. But they actually came and stayed and loved it! It was amazing and we are so excited to meet with them again. After church, the missionaries got pulled into a crazy meeting with all the ward leaders and then into a crazy choir practice for the ward Christmas party and then we all went to take the sacrament to a babushka who can't come to church. The elders forgot the bread and she didn't have any but Sister King did have some nacho cheese tortilla chips in her pocket and so we used that. Probably the funniest sacrament I've ever experienced.

Some fun winter Ukraine finds:
- People dress their babies up like marshmallows and they literally cannot move its hilarious
- People also dress their dogs in coats that are nicer than their own
- People will get mad at you if you don't have your coat zipped all the way or aren't dressed in adequate scarves, hats, and gloves

That's all for this week folks! Love you all! HAVE A WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING! I will be spending mine at zone conference!
