The Lord magnifies our efforts and makes miracles
This week was a great one! After such an inspiring week at zone conference and watching General Conference, Sister king and I buckled down and got to work. We did so much finding, and it paid off! It is amazing to see how when we put in all we have and try our best, the Lord will magnify our efforts to make miracles happen! So here are some of the miracles this week:
1. We are working with a less active member who has really bad depression. We go to her weekly but a lot of weeks she won't let us in. This week her home teacher, Brother Bartosh, wanted to come with us. We were really nervous that she would be mad that he came or that she wouldn't let us in but when we rang her doorbell she let us in and they chatted for an hour! Members make all the difference! It was an answer to our prayers that she let us in and was so happy to see her ministering brother from the ward.
2. We did so many "book tables" this week and found so many people who were interested in the gospel.
3. We have been trying to work with a less active named Katia ever since we have been here. her son is 12 and had a baptismal date for November. His dad is Jewish and doesn't was him to get baptized. We haven't been able to get a hold of her in a month in a half and we stopped by multiple times and they weren't home. We decided to go tracting in her apartment building one night and just check if they were home. We said a prayer and knocked one last time. She was home and invited us in! She was the only one home and we got to know her so much better and leave her with a spiritual thought. It was an amazing lesson!
4. Our last miracle this week is Kcenya. We met with her 3 times this week. She has been having such a hard time and really wants to find joy, forgiveness, and happiness in her life. On Monday we dropped off a note with a conference talk and a chocolate bar for her. The next day we just happened to be at the church when our lesson canceled. We were figuring out what to do instead when she called saying she was at the church and if we could meet. She came in 1 minute later without us having much time at all to plan. Then 20 minutes later the member we were supposed to meet with walked in and it turned out to be the best lesson ever. Sister Fokina (the member) basically taught the whole lesson perfectly and stressed the importance of baptism. There was so much crying and it was our first lesson with Kcenya in Russian so I didn't really know what was going on. The next day Kcenya met with us again and she scheduled her baptismal date for November 10th! We cannot wait!
Anyway, sorry for this super wordy email but I know that all of these miracles happened because we worked as hard as we could and relied completely on the Lord. I am so grateful for this gospel and the miracles that can come about because of obedience, diligence, and faith. I love you all and hope you have a great week!
Love,
Cectpa Daines
Only 1 picture this week: There was a scatch off magic 8 ball where we ate last week on P-day and our question was "Will Kcenya get baptized this month?" and the answer was "YES BABY!" so that was crazy cuz 3 days later we got her baptismal date - not for this month tho haha, but so close!
