Baptisms + Word of Wisdom

This was a great week filled with lots of work, lessons, and contacting.

We can tell we are working hard when we get home at 9 o'clock and go straight to bed. Yeah, that did actually happen a couple times this week. I have learned to appreciate sleep more than ever on the mission.

There was a baptism this week! The Elders in our district baptized their investigator Nadejda, the mother of a member in our ward, and it was such a happy day! The baptism was supposed to happen next month but after church last Sunday she decided to move up the baptism to Friday morning. So all week we called and called and invited and planned for this baptism. Sister King and I gave a talk on Baptism and it went really well! We also were in charge of snacks haha so we made sure there were plenty of cookies and juice. Because it was so last minute and on a weekday, not many people could come, but luckily interviews were going on in the mission office in the same building so we were able to corral a ton of missionaries into this baptism and it was great!

We had a great week with Ksenya too. She committed to living the word of wisdom even though she is "addicted to coffee." We both testified to her about the power of the word of wisdom and even though at the beginning of the lesson she was totally against it, she agreed by the end! She also came to church again this Sunday and had a good experience. She has also been seeing the power of prayer in her life and told us after she prayed at the end of our lesson that she knows God is there and he listens to her prayers.

Funny Ukrainian side note from the week:
- No one here plans. At all. everything is so last minute and just thrown together. I have had to get used to that fact because its super hard for me not to plan! But if you remember from my email last week I talked about the huge national festival that was happening this week, well we were so excited and then got the call the night before that they moved it to Sunday so we couldn't go anymore. The guy from our ward who was in charge of our part just said, "that's Ukraine."

Anyway, I hope you all have a great week!

Love,

Cectpa Daines
