Another week in paradise!

Image
This week was a great week filled with lots of work, lessons, and miracles!  This week we did a combined area book table that went everyday from 8am - 8pm right in our area, Pechersky! Companionships from different areas had 2 hour shifts throughout the week and we met and talked to so many different people and got some great contacts!  Friday was Ukrainian Independence Day! We were planning to have a big book table day with everyone wearing Veshivanki right by the big Parade. Unfortunately, we got a call from President Kumferman the night before saying it wasnt safe for us to be in Pechersky that day so the table was cancelled and we had to stay inside except for lessons. It was a day full of planning, calling, and cooking.  That night we met with an adorable family in our ward, Maria and her two daughters, Katya and Nastya. We had a great time teaching them they had a great time showing us their barbies haha.  We had a combined Zone Conference yester...

Well that's a wrap on week 3 of this transfer!  Highlights of the week: - Taught our first lesson this week to Katia, Timofey and Bella. Katia is a less active member who's 12 year old son has been meeting with the missionaries and wants to be baptised! She wants him to wait until October so he can be baptised with his sister Bella, but he is ready and has an amazing amount of knowledge of the gospel for a 12 year old. We hope to move his baptismal date to September!  - We visited an amazing lady in our ward, Galina, who can't come to Church because she can't walk after an accident trying to save a child's life, after which she converted to the Church because she found hope and peace in a time of despair and confusion. She is so inspiring.  - We did a fun contacting activity at Maidon, the center of Kiev. If you look up pictures of Kiev, Maidon will pop up. It has an amazing history which you will see photos of if you Google it. It was scary at first to go...

Welcome to Ukraine!

Wow first week in Ukraine! It has been crazy but so amazing!  We left the CCM at 2 am on tuesday and then flew to Paris then to Kiev! It was a much shorter and better flight than the one to Spain so I am grateful for that.  President and Sister Kumferman picked us up from the airport and drove us to the Temple site/mission office. We met with President and then we went to a hotel down the street! We had dinner at a nice Ukrainian restaurant and it was so delicious. I love Borsch! Sister Gunderson and I got our own room so we had a very fun sleepover/last night together before they ripped us apart.  President and Sister Kumferman are awesome! They are so kind and loving and happy! They are great and I already love them!  The next day we had orientation and met our companions! My companion is Sister King! she is from Idaho and has been out a year. She has been out the longest out of all the sisters in the mission! That is good for me because the languag...

This is my last email from the MTC and if you cant tell, I am a bit excited! This last week has been a little crazy but definitely fun! It has been full of culture lessons, grammar reviews and russian word cramming so when I get to Kiev I will at least be able to say "where is the bathroom?" so that is how its going!  I thought I would send a bunch of pics because that is everyones favorite part of these thingies anyway so here goes!  See you all in Ukraine! ALMOST DONE. I REPEAT ALMOST DONE. If you cant tell Im going a little stir crazy here in the MTC. 9 weeks is a looong time but I do have to count my blessings because I get to leave and explore spain every Pday (today we are going to the royal palace) And I get to proselyte on saturdays.  This week was the same as always so nothing new to update on. I did get sick on sunday which was super fun! When you live in super close quarters with 30 something missionaries, disease spreads like wildfire so everyone has been getting sick this week.  We started culture lessons this week which has been great because Idk how much more russian grammar I can take. Last night we watched Vinnie Puh. It is basically a russian version of Winnie the Pooh, except for Winnie is a red panda hahah. All the other characters are almost the same lol and it was so hilarious to watch it.  Anyway, not much to say this week but I hope you all are having a great summer!  Love,...
