Welcome to Ukraine!

Wow first week in Ukraine! It has been crazy but so amazing!

We left the CCM at 2 am on tuesday and then flew to Paris then to Kiev! It was a much shorter and better flight than the one to Spain so I am grateful for that.

President and Sister Kumferman picked us up from the airport and drove us to the Temple site/mission office. We met with President and then we went to a hotel down the street! We had dinner at a nice Ukrainian restaurant and it was so delicious. I love Borsch! Sister Gunderson and I got our own room so we had a very fun sleepover/last night together before they ripped us apart.

President and Sister Kumferman are awesome! They are so kind and loving and happy! They are great and I already love them!

The next day we had orientation and met our companions! My companion is Sister King! she is from Idaho and has been out a year. She has been out the longest out of all the sisters in the mission! That is good for me because the language they speak here is not what they taught me in the MTC. (mission jokes lol). Anyway we get along really well!

We are also white washing our area which is great because I dont speak russian and she has never served here. We also moved into an elders apartment and let me tell you. It was a mess. The senior couple came to help clean and Sister Humphies was bugging out. She was so mad haha and said they had never seen a dirtier apartment (They served 3 missions. 2 in kiev and one in Africa lol). So basically my first week was scrubbing this apartment from top to bottom and attacking the area book (also a mess) to find people to teach. It has been a great week though! Our apartment is sparkling clean (almost) and we have a list of people to meet with!

I love it here! our area is Pechersky. It is the center of Kiev and if you look at pictures of kiev, that is our area! It is fun to be in the city and I love it!

This week I definietly gained a testimony of planning and preparing. This week was a lot of that and now we are ready to teach and find people! I love this work and the people here. I'm so grateful to serve here in Kiev! Love you all and hope you have a great summer!
