Week 6 in Madrid

If I were speaking spanish I would be out of the MTC this week. But I’m not so I’m still here.  I promise these emails will get better once I  leave this three story MTC (1 floor  for classes, 1 floor for dorms, and 1 floor for eating). I’m definitely excited to get to Ukraine to say the least!  Last week for Pday we went to the Prado museum which was so cool! Today we went to the mall which if you know me was also very cool.  Last saturday was my favorite day in the park so far. The first week my comp and I saw a girl singing and playing the ukelele by the lake. It reminded me of my cute sister Ella and I just wanted to run up and squeeze her! Anyway ever since then I have been praying that I would see her again. This week after an unpleasant encounter with some not so nice russians, I found her sitting by the lake! I ran up to her and in my broken spanish explained how talented she is! She was so kind and we shared our message with her, Angelica, ...

Halfway Point In Madrid MTC!

Wow. Halfway done here at the MTC!  Its crazy to think about where I started and where I am now. Honestly there isnt much to update on becuase we do the same thing every week.  I had a cool experience at the park last week. My companion was Hermana Quist and the last two weeks I was not able to talk to anyone who was interested in the Church. I was gettting frustrated becuase no one would accept a Book of Mormon. This week I was with Sister Quist and she is a real go-getter! (MTC inside joke- shoutout to Elder Taylor) Anyway, we walked in the Park and I had been praying to be led to someone who needed the Gospel. We took a weird route that I would not usually follow but I didnt think anything of it. We made it almost all the way through the park when we saw a mom with her two babies. Sister Quist is brand new so the only spanish we knew was the bare minimum that they wrote on a paper for us. Her name was Adlaida and we only talked to her for a couple minutes but she was s...

Madrid week 3

Hello everyone! This week was a busy one and an amazing one.  Russian is coming along! I have finally started to be able to form sentences which is a miracle. I have found that I have so much love for this language! It truly is beautiful and I am so happy to be able to learn it. It can be a struggle some days but it is clear that missionaries are blessed with the gift of tongues.  This week has been full of change! My beloved spanish speaking missionaries all left this week leaving just my Russian district here at the MTC. Later that day we got 22 more missionaries. Some of them are familiar faces (Hermana Arnold from Boston and Hermana Mortenson from Lone Peak). I miss our old missionaries so much! Luckily we have been able to run into a few who are serving in madrid at the temple. Blagoslavenye!! (Blessings) This week I have been studying the Book of Mormon. It is truly the cornerstone to our religion and I invite all of you to read and pray about it. Moroni 10:4...
